The biggest piece of advice we have for all our clients is to don’t over obsess, trust the process, and please be patient. They will go through quite the transformation process over the next 6- 8 weeks. Keep your eye on the prize, and just know that every day it will just get better and better! It takes this much time for the skin to heal completely, and for the color to stabilize in the skin, as the epidermis turns over every 5 weeks. If you’ve never had permanent makeup before, there are a lot of unknowns. One of the most common questions we’re asked is what to expect during the healing process. While every person is different, and some heal more quickly or slowly than others, here’s generally what to expect.
Temporary side effects from micropigmentation include but are not limited to: redness, swelling, puffiness, bruising, dry patches and tenderness.
You should expect to lose approximately 10-40% of the initial color during the healing process. We have selected the optimal pigments for you with this in mind.
Day 1-4 The eyebrows will appear significantly darker in color, and bolder in shape. Expect light to moderate swelling, redness, and tenderness, almost like a sunburn. The skin’s redness causes the color of the pigment to appear darker. Pigment might appear warmer, or with a reddish tint because of the skin. Do not worry, this will subside. Don’t freak out, this is normal. 😊
Day 5- 7 Eyebrows start to itch and will appear a bit thicker in texture. Exfoliation sometimes begins. The skin begins to flake, peel or scab from the outside edges first. DO NOT PICK! USE CREAM ONLY WHEN SIN NEEDS IT. Listen to your skin. 😊
Day 8-14 Color finishes flaking off and appears softer, grayer, patchy, and not as crisp and defined, this is normal. Please expect them to be in a very dull phase for awhile.
2 week- 6 weeks after The color has lightened from its initial overly-dark appearance. Expect for the strokes or color to appear dull, and not as defined. Some might experience a patchy, and almost barely there phase. Please do not worry, this is also normal, and as skin continues to heal, the color will look richer and more defined and bloom in the skin. It’s normal to have some flaking for a couple of weeks after your treatment.
6- 8 weeks after The final color begins to stabilize and show through.
