Hair Goals, RIP Laser Season + Routine: The April Diary

If I could describe April in Dallas in one word, I think it’d be: blegh. I can’t really say that rainy, overcast, stormy or cold truly singularly encapsulates it… just a menagerie of undesirable weather trends all converging into one 30-day period of time. Milquetoast Dallas backdrop aside, I had a great month! At a glance, April looked like new hair, stellar client results, prep for May events, and finally getting back into routine. But I’ve left you waiting long enough - let’s dive right on into the month’s recap, shall we?

I’ve been on a bit of a hair journey in 2026, and had my latest appointment a few weeks ago. I’ve had quite a few hair eras in my life; I won ‘t provide the evidence but scroll far back enough on my socials and see the visual proof for yourself. That being said, I think long, red hair, face-framing layers Nicole might be my favorite era to date! It’s giving mermaid goddess, femme fatale… it’s truly everything I’ve ever wanted and more. Massive, massive shoutout to @BushmanBeauty for being a true master of his craft and creating the hair of my wildest dreams. If you happen to be in Dallas or the surrounding area, go experience his expertise & talent for yourself & see him at Bigger Better Hair!!

PICO, PICO, PICO! April is what I would say is the last major month of laser season, especially here in Texas where May is the unofficial start to summer (hell, it’s 85 degrees as I’m typing this!) That means PICO has been a booked and busy gal, haven’t having seen a day off basically all fall & winter. I’ve written blogs about this in the past, but the reason for there being a “season” for laser is because of how impactful sun exposure can be to freshly-treated skin. After laser treatments, you want to keep your skin out of the sun and the sun’s rays for a minimum 24-48 hours post-session. This is far easier to do in the winter months where it’s colder, more overcast, and the sun sets earlier in the day. Whether booking the PICOSure Pro Laser for skin rejuvenation, brow tone, lip neutralization or laser tattoo removal; I always encourage my clients to get as many sessions under their belt as they can in the winter aka “peak laser season” so that they can see as much progress as they can before the summer and we’re “out” of that season.

From getting back into Pilates sessions (thank you Serv Studios) to getting a bit of content filming in, this month has been one of getting back into the swing of things. Routines, habits, and admin! Back in March we switched booking platforms over, and while that change has been incredible, it was also incredibly time-consuming and definitely threw me out of routine a bit. Now that I'm past the thick of that, I have more time to return to the routines I genuinely crave & love. I’ve also been preparing to attend Biotek’s training seminar/workshop in New York here in just a couple of weeks! If you know me you know I love Biotek & their pigments; I’ll stand ten toes down on the fact that they’re some of the best in the biz. I took so much away from their last educational session here in Dallas, and can’t wait to attend this session!

It wouldn’t be a monthly newsletter without mentioning my faves of the month, so these are the Non-negotiable April products I’m thankful to have tried & loved this past month:
Favorite Products:
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré | This is an insert coming to you from my Social + Marketing Manager, who just returned from a trip to Paris & picked this up in the French Pharmacy. She tested this as a hydrating base for makeup - and had nothing but incredible things to say. She reports that it “never left her normal/dry skin dehydrated, and made her makeup look natural & flawless all day long, even post-20k steps around Paris.” Sounds convincing enough to me!
House of Bo XuXu Eau de Parfum | Oh, how I love this scent. House of Bo has never once missed with a fragrance release and this is no different - dare I say it’s my favorite from them? Notes of earl grey tea, champagne, rose, chili pepper and macarons (yep, like the addictive pastry cookies)... blended to it-girl perfection.
Maliqe Layali Eau de Parfum | Okay, one more perfume because I’m clearly in my fragrance era. I have multiple from this line, and while you really can’t go wrong, my personal favorite is this dreamy, delightful scent I can’t stop wearing.
Favorite Misc. Item/Thing
John Summit - CTRL ESCAPE | Yeah, his new album was obviously getting selected to be on this list. This will be playing in the studio until further notice! I also am quite literally following his very public beef with Rimowa Luggage like it’s a breaking news story. The feud I didn’t know I needed and surely wasn’t on my 2026 Bingo Card was John Summit v. Rimowa, but this is leaving me more entertained than I’ve been by anything on social in awhile. Please let me know if you’re also keeping up with this and patiently awaiting Rimowa’s response.
You know what they say: April monologues bring May recap blogs (or something like that) - catch ya for May’s musings 💋
