  • Nine Years Later: My 9-Year Reflective of The Brow Project

It’s hard to believe it’s been nine years of The Brow Project already. It all began in 2016 with a dream, PMU skills, and a level of determination that might scare some people. I could never imagine it would grow into how it exists today - not even in my wildest Y2K-colored dreams (praise be to Britney Spears that it did!) Opening my storefront was terrifying + thrilling at the same time. It was tangible proof that people believed in me, even in moments I doubted that belief in myself. If there’s one phrase that could echo this growth period, it’d be this: “You don’t know what you don’t know." The highs and lows of hiring, of learning how to scale, of trying to do it right. I started during peak #GirlBoss era - a time where it was admirable to wear every hat, and to do it with ease. I wore every hat, helmed every department... I did it all. And somewhere in that never-ending hustle, I traded one addiction for another. The #HollywoodSyndrome is real; tirelessly chasing society’s definition of “success” until you lose touch with the person you are. I didn’t just own TBP - I became TBP. Out of necessity, but it came at a steep cost. 2020 is undoubtedly the year everything shifted. Of course with COVID came  uncertainty I know every small business can attest to experiencing. Twas a scary time to be “nonessential” (not to mention, to have a part of your income come from tattooing something indefinitely masked.) But 2020 was self-transformative, too. This same year, I decided it was time to prioritize ME and my mental health, and I embarked on my MH journey through Onsite Workshops in Tennessee. To say this was a life-altering, “changed the trajectory of my life” experience is the biggest understatement.  I learned how to protect my mental health as a business owner AND as a human. I was a one-woman show for so long as a business owner, and this experience allowed me to rediscover myself as a person separate from TBP, acknowledge my mental and physical needs, and learn how to be the best version of myself. It was the wake-up call I needed to see that showing up for others, also meant showing up for myself. This journey was hard, not linear - but valuable and so necessary. Since then I’ve continued to further my mental health journey, and last summer I finally got answers I didn’t even know I needed: an ADHD diagnosis + medication. The level of mental clarity I experience now is unlike anything I’ve ever known. I can finally step out of my own head (thank F*CK) and find more focus, balance, and intention within what truly serves me. 2025 also marks 8 years alcohol-free! Sobriety has been a tool in helping me commit to the level of mental health work and self-discovery I’ve committed myself to over the years, by allowing me to experience the highs AND lows in their realest form (raw-dogging life, if you will.) In recent years I’ve brought on new services, new devices, and now I’m lucky enough to be speaking at international conferences - as you’re reading this, I’m prepping to fly to Vietnam to speak at Wulop PMU Conference! None of it would’ve been possible without you: my clients + community; my biggest sources of trust & inspiration. In the same way I’ve shown up for you personally or professionally, you’ve shown up for me. Whether you’ve been a day-one OG or just walked through my doors for the first time, you’ve made more of an impact than you’ll ever know. Here’s to 9 whole freaking years of  evolution, healing, messy-yet-beautiful growth - and to never diluting the authentic version of yourself. Oh - and to some kicka** brows & kissable AF lips. xo, Nicole Blankenship

  • The Sober Girl’s Guide to a #HotGirlSummer in Dallas

If you’re spending your summer alcohol-free - either by choice, lifestyle, or simply because you want to experiment - you’re not alone, and you’re DEF not missing out. I’ve been enjoying a sober-curious lifestyle for a while now, and can say it’s the best I’ve felt. However, I know Dallas is a city that does have most social activities revolving around eating and drinking. This makes the idea of being sober in the city a bit daunting, and it's easy to get FOMO and get scared of not being a part of fun social outings. However, there’s honestly so many things you can enjoy in Dallas that don’t have a drop of alcohol involved - so whether you’re sober curious, cutting back, or fully committed to the dry life, here’s my curated guide to making the most of a sober summer in the city, sans-booze: Sober Girl Summer Essentials: Kin Euphorics : If you still love a fancy sip, these adaptogen-packed non-alc beverages are chic, functional, and give you a little vibe without the side effects that come with drinking (aka, no accidental drunk texts.) CaliSober: My fave mocktail EVER. They're alcohol-free seltzers that contain about 0.3% THC levels (hence the name; LOL.) The low percentage gives you that relaxed vibe, sans-alcohol. De Soi: They have some incredible takes on Spicy margs, Italian spritz, and more - all adaptogen-rich, and alcohol-free. You really can't go wrong no matter which sparkling aperitif you choose from them! A #DGAF Attitude: Okay this one may just be for jokes, but it's hard to let loose and have a good time if you're constantly thinking about how much everyone around you is judging you for not drinking. I promise you, truly no one cares that you're skipping out on alcohol. You are not silently being judged and ostracized for opting for a mocktail, a crisp Diet Coke, or a Topo Chico with lime (my signature party trick 😜) And if anyone IS giving you shit for it... that really says more about them than you. Like really, you're gonna pressure someone to drink? You're passing judgement for someone prioritizing their health and listening to their own mind + body? That flag could not be MORE red 🚩 Best Mocktails in Dallas Beverley’s : Their zero-proof section is small but curated. The "Cherry on Top" is a personal fave (for obvious reasons.) The Kava Bar: Kava ( piper methysticum) is a small shrub with a root used to make a non-alcoholic beverage, and is the star of the show at this vibrant & community-driven social lounge. Serving natural euphoric teas and elixirs, The Kava Bar is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a more relaxed side of Dallas nightlife. You can visit their location off Preston Rd. or Oak Cliff! The Mexican (Uptown) : Order the Beso de Verano ("A Kiss of Summer) and thank me later. José on Lovers Lane : The guava pink mocktail is a must - just trust me on this one. Paradiso in Bishop Arts : While you can tell some establishments phone in their non-alcoholic drink menu for the sake of having something to offer, Paradiso certainly doesn't cut corners. Their mocktail menu is curated, eclectic - and absolutely delicious. These feel like true indulgences worthy of another round. The Henry : I don't miss regular cocktails when I go here. The Sparkling Matcha Latte is so crisp with the pineapple, and the Honeydew Highball is the refreshing summer mocktail you need in your life. Wellness Services I Can’t Get Enough of: Breathe Meditation Studio : Their guided breathwork & sound bath sessions are exactly what you didn't know you needed. I can say with full confidence that incorporating these sessions has changed how I feel. I'm more grounded, I have more mental clarity, and overall have felt my energy is more positive. I'll forever be a client; Dallas, this is a must. The Sculpt Fairy : Get sculpted + snatched this summer at The Sculpt Fairy. Let expert (& my bestie gal) Miku work her magic to leave you feeling & looking your very best. She offers body sculpting, manual lymphatic drainage, HIEMT, & more! The Brow Project  (literally DUH!): The brows, lips & clear skin of your dreams so you can feel put-together even bare-faced. Alive + Well : From massages & acupuncture to cold plunges & IV therapy, there's not much they don't offer here! The space is off the Katy Trail and drop-dead gorgeous - so grab the girls and plan the perfect spa day here! Bonus - O2 is right below for a pre-spa workout. Outdoor Booze-Free Activities The Coffee Shop Rave : Swap the booze for beans and the club for a café - coffee shop raves & DJ sets are taking over Dallas, and for good reason! These events don't sacrifice any of the fun of going to a live DJ at a nightclub - you won't even miss the alc, promise!! Dallas Farmers Market : Fresh fruit, local goods - and A+ people-watching. Grab a friend, order cold-pressed juice from one of many friendly vendors and explore! Plus, if you're scared of being victim to the Texas heat for that long, there's an indoor section of the market with strong AC 🙏 Toyota Music Factory Events : Did you know they do more than just concerts? They have a pretty stacked summer lineup, including Goat Yoga, pop-up parties, group fitness classes, and more - plus a lot of them are free! World Springs : This outdoor mineral hot springs located in The Colony features over 40 different hot springs for you to explore + enjoy. The springs are inspired by 9 unique global destinations with the goal of recreating the experiences by matching the minerality + delivering the same healing benefits. You can either book a 3-hour or 6-hour soak - so grab the girls and spend a day here! Katy Trail HGW : Listen... I am well aware this isn't a revolutionary concept, okay? Not niche, not a hidden gem - but still worthy of a shoutout IMO. The Rose Cafe just opened in the Terminal off the trail, and its the perfect place to either grab a matcha to sip during your walk OR the place to grab post-HGW brunch and enjoy their patio overlooking the trail. If you're looking for an option to accompany your trail walk, it's matcha @ Rose > drinks @ the Ice House all day for me. My Go-to @ Home Mocktail Recipe (Lip) Blush Cherry Adaptogen Cooler | dreamy + functional, this mocktail pairs calming herbs with cherry for a pink sliver of paradise. INGREDIENTS: 1/2 cup tart cherry juice  (recovery + sleep support) 1/4 cup pink coconut water  (hydrating & naturally pink!) 1 tsp rosewater 1/2 tsp ashwagandha  powder (stress relief) 1 tsp lemon juice 1 tsp honey  or maple syrup  (optional but will balance the tartness) Sparkling hibiscus or rose-flavored water  (I love La Croix or Aura Bora) Crushed ice Garnish: dried rose petals, mint, and/or a cherry INSTRUCTIONS: 1 | In a shaker or small jar, whisk together cherry juice, pink coconut water, lemon juice, rosewater, sweetener, and your adaptogen of choice until well combined. 2 | Fill a glass with crushed ice and pour in the blend. 3 | Top with hibiscus or rose sparkling water to create a fizzy ombré effect. 4 | Gently stir, then garnish with something sweet - dried petals, a cherry, or a mint sprig. Optional:  If you really want to up the whimsy factor, stir in a pinch of edible glitter to really create something magical ✨ - - - The TL;DR? Don't let anyone tell you that you need alcohol to have a full, vibrant, exciting summer - and if you’re enjoying the sober or sober-curious life, you’re not boring; if anything you’re ahead of the curve . I personally don't enjoy the feeling consuming alcohol gives me. I'm also not here to yuck anyone's yum and tell people what they have to do, so if you're consuming alcohol in moderation and love it and don't want to give it up completely - that's your prerogative and I love that for you! But I know it can be daunting, especially in Dallas where drinking feels engrained into a lot of the social culture, to not drink. That's why I wanted to show you that A. you're not alone, and B. there are options!! Cheers to a Dallas #sobergirlsummer that’s full of fun, spontaneity, laughter - and the kind of memories that don’t blur the day after.

  • PMU FAQ: Answering my Most Commonly-Asked Questions!

You're wondering it - I've probably been asked it. Having been in this industry as a Permanent Makeup artist as long as I have, I've received a lot (and I mean a lot ) of questions regarding PMU. It never bothers me, though - in fact, I love it! Educating current or prospective clients is truly one of the best parts of my job. Whether you're brand new to PMU, looking to get some answers before you book, or perhaps you're just curious about how the wonderful magical world of Permanent Makeup all works: here are some of the most commonly asked questions I receive along with honest, helpful answers to give you some clarity. "Is Permanent Makeup really  permanent?" At the end of the day, this is a tattoo and it's gonna behave like one, too. Over time, pigment fades naturally due to factors such as your skin type, your lifestyle, sun exposure, and product use. Most of my clients will tend to need a touch-up or color boost every 1-3 years to keep things looking as fresh & sharp as they can. Think of it like dying your hair, or getting facial/dermal fillers - it’s low-maintenance, not no-maintenance. - - - ""What will it look like in, say, 5 years?" With proper care and maintenance, your PMU will fade gradually and evenly. If it's left totally untouched for five years, it may appear lighter than initial treatment, but it may take on warmer or cooler tones, depending on the original pigment & your skin’s chemistry. Many of my clients opt for a refresh & color boost right around that 2–3 year mark to keep their look soft, natural, and true to their current aesthetic. - - - ""What if I want to change my look at some point?" Trends come and go, and personal taste evolves. I would know, I've even changed the look of my brows recently for the same reason. The good news? You’re never stuck. If you at some point find yourself wanting to change the shape, style, or color of your brows, we can use techniques such as color correction, brow reshaping, or even PICOSure Pro Laser-powered Brow Tone ( which is what I recently did !) to adjust or remove old work safely. - - - "Can PMU reallyyy ever look natural?" Abso- freaking -lutely! IMO, natural is the new bold. Whether you’re going for fluffy, feathery brows ( within reason... ) or a barely-there, just-kissed lip blush - I'll customize the shape, color, and look to flatter your features and enhance the beauty you've already got going on. No harsh lines, no bold highlighter lips and absolutely NO sharpie brows - cross my heart!! - - - "Does it hurt?" Pain is subjective, but most of my clients would probably describe the sensation as mild discomfort; I would say it's in the same realm as light scratching of the skin or tweezing stray hairs. We do have a secret weapon in our arsenal: topical numbing agents  are always utilized to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure - because I would never let a client of mine raw-dog their appointment like that. I even have clients doze off during their appointments! - - - "Is there any downtime?" Yes - but it's minimal! You may experience some redness, swelling, and tenderness for the first 24–48 hours. The PMU result will appear more intense initially - but don't let that scare you! It tends to soften as it heals, which will span over the next 7–14 days. Biiiiig ol' disclaimer here, though: following aftercare instructions is 100% KEY to a beautiful healed result. - - - "When can I use my retinol??" You’ll want to pause retinol and, truthfully, any other exfoliating actives like AHAs, BHAs, tretinoin etc. at least 7–10 days before AND after  your PMU appointment. Not only can these strong ingredients thin the skin, but they can also affect pigment retention - and I know you want your $$$ worth. Once your beautiful brows or luscious lippies are fully healed, you can add your retinol back into your routine - BUT just avoid using it directly on treated areas. - - - "What about Botox or fillers - do I need to adjust my appointments?" For my Botox babes, be sure to schedule your PMU appointment at least 2 weeks after your injections  to allow your facial muscles to settle. For my lip blush clients looking to also enhance their pouts with dermal fillers, it's paramount that you wait 4 weeks after lip filler  to allow any potential swelling to subside, and for your tissue to normalize. This cadence will ensure the most optimal shaping AND optimal results. - - - "Can I do laser treatments afterward? I want PICO Skin!!" First of all - what a great choice to book an appointment for PICO Skin ! That being said, any laser treatments (such as facials, resurfacing, etc.) should be avoided over PMU areas, as the laser may alter the pigment or cause fading (hence, why Brow Tone works so well.) You'll want to time your laser appointment before your PMU appointment, if possible - but if you're booked for a Glow Job with me after I do your brows, I'll always protect that PMU Pigment. No unintentional Brow Tone around here! - - - "Will the sun affect my PMU?" 100%! Just like your skin, your PMU is extremely vulnerable to UV damage. Always apply SPF 30+ over any treated areas (and just apply it in general, DUH!) and wear hats or sunglasses when outdoors. Sun exposure is the number one cause of premature fading and pigment shifts - so I cannot stress how important proper sun protection is. Protect yourself, AND protect your investment! - - - Final Thoughts Biased, I know - but permanent makeup is truly such a cheat code for waking up every day to as the most confident, put together version of yourself. That being said, it's key that this is something you go into fully informed and prepared. If you have more questions or are thinking about booking your first session, my consultations are always complimentary! Schedule that here , or reach out to us at booking@thebrowproject.com OR call/text (214) 334-5232 . I’m always here to help you feel your very best, and I'm so excited to see you in my studio soon! - xo, Nicole -

  • Your New Favorite Facial: Glo2 Has Arrived

It's 2025, and "average" just doesn't cut it anymore in the beauty industry. I've made it somewhat of a mission to source & bring on only the most cutting-edge, innovative technology into The Brow Project, because it's out there and elevates many treatments we've come to widely accept as industry mainstays. Hydrafacials, Diamond Glow Facials and the likes have been industry darlings for more than a hot second - and don't get me wrong; those are still amazing options! However as technology has advanced, so have facial options that - to put it simply - do more. One of those that I came across at the end of last year was Geneo's Glo2 Oxygen Facial .. and I fell head over heels. As you may have seen in my May diary entry (which if you didn't, it's required reading i fear 😜 - click here to read that!) we just brought on the innovative Glo2 Facial here at The Brow Project! But don't be fooled - this isn’t just a facial; Glo2 is an advanced, all-in-one skin rejuvenation system that’s quickly becoming a favorite among skincare professionals and beauty lovers worldwide. After months of research, hands-on experience (and a couple of Glo2 facials for some client experience research, obvi! ) I knew this was the perfect treatment to elevate our studio's skincare offerings. But let's start with the basics - What is the Glo2 Facial? The Glo2 Facial is a next-gen 3-in-1 treatment that combines natural oxygenation, exfoliation, AND active ingredient infusion with the option to include radiofrequency (RF) and ultrasound technology for even more powerful results. Beyond its expansive capabilities, what truly sets it apart is its patented OxyPod technology, which triggers a natural oxygenation process within the skin - unlike other oxygen facials that push oxygen in from the outside. This facial doesn’t just work on the surface; Glo2 activates your skin from within to create real, visible changes. The 3 Core Steps of the Glo2 Facial OxyPod Oxygenation | Each Glo2 treatment begins with an OxyPod - a capsule made of natural, active ingredients like charcoal, vitamin C, red algae, retinol, and more. When this pod interacts with the primer gel, it creates a gentle bubbling reaction that oxygenates the skin by stimulating the Bohr Effect (a natural process that draws oxygen-rich blood to the surface). This improves circulation, boosts cell turnover, and preps your skin to absorb the next steps more effectively. When it comes to skincare, everyone has a different skin type, texture, concern, etc. One thing that makes Glo2 so powerful is that you can choose from seven OxyPod options tailored to your unique skin needs (in order from most gentle to most intense) : Hydrate | Refresh + replenish with blue spirulina and hyaluronic acid to treat dry, dull skin. This is the least intense, most gentle option. Protect | Strengthen & rebuild with turmeric, goji berries and mangosteen to rebuild the skin barrier. Firm | Boost & firm with gold, silk amino acids & rosehip oil to prevent and reduce early signs of aging. Energize | Awaken & stimulate with caffeine and cocoa to improve the blood flow and inflammation. The result? Soft, supple skin. Refine | Smooth & tighten with red algae and edelweiss to minimize fine lines and wrinkles in mature skin. Brighten | Brighten and rejuvenate with vitamin C and kojic aid to treat pigmentation and uneven skin tone. Smooth | Correct and renew with AHA, BHA and PHA acids. As their most intense Oxypod offering, this works to deeply exfoliate, clarify and encourage skin cell renewal. Facials shouldn't be one size fits all - and with Glo2, it isn't. LUX Ultrasound Infusion | Ultrasound waves help deliver active ingredients deeper into the skin, promoting elasticity and increasing moisture retention. This step is what gives you that smooth, glassy glow and allows skincare actives to reach deeper layers where they can make a real difference. RF Lifting (Optional Add-On) | Radiofrequency energy gently heats the dermal layers to stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin. It’s non-invasive and pain-free - but highly effective for lifting, firming, and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This is the perfect upgrade if you're looking for that “snatched” jawline or more sculpted cheekbones. Why Glo2 is a Game-Changer It's safe for ALL skin types  (yes, even sensitive skin!) There's ZERO downtime , so you can walk out glowing. You'll see both immediate AND long-term results . Enjoy visibly plumper, healthier skin now - and experience healthier skin over time. It's clinically proven . Glo2 is backed by science, and is the darling of dermatologists & skincare enthusiasts alike! Glo2 is totally customizable . With distinct Oxypods to cater to your specific concerns, to the add-ons such as RF and LUX - every single treatment you receive via Glo2 is tailored to you. Skincare isn't one-size-fits-all, and this facial is anything but a generic routine protocol. Ready to Glow? Whether you’re dealing with breakouts, dryness, aging - or just want that luxurious "treat yourself" moment, the Glo2 Facial has something for everyone. It’s cutting-edge and spares no luxury - and now, it’s available right here at our studio. Booking opens soon - so keep an eye out in your inbox and give us a follow to be the first to know when this service officially launches.

  • Glo2, Lip Blush Trainings & Dallas Outings | Diary Entry #5

It May or May not be that time again for a monthly newsletter! Hope everyone’s enjoying the pre-summer weather (If you’re in Dallas, manifesting the end of these crazy AF rainstorms we’ve been having.) April was such an exciting month here at The Brow Project - so let’s dive in: - - - In probably my biggest news - were officially launch our latest arrival, the Glo2 Facial ! I have been sitting on this news for what feels like forEVER, so I’m stoked to be able to finally share this news with you all. Glo2 is an innovative oxygen facial. If you’ve heard that term before, it’s probably because oxygen facials are kind of having a moment right now - and for good reason. Oxygen facials rejuvenate & revitalize the skin by delivering highly concentrated oxygen molecules also infused with vitamins, minerals, etc. Glo2 stands out for their trademarked Oxfoliation process, which combines the concept of oxygenation with exfoliation via custom Oxypods curated specifically to your unique skin concerns. These Oxypods are patented effervescent capsules combining high-quality botanicals, vitamins, and minerals to trigger a Bohr Effect; aka, a natural physiological response that draws oxygen to the skin from within. Do you think the benefits stop there? Please. Glo2 also has a Radio Frequency component to stimulate collagen remodeling, elastin production, and tissue tightening. From there, things get luxe - no, LUX (also known as Lite Ultrasound Experience.) This modality stimulates cell renewal, enhances active absorption, and boosts blood circulation with micro-vibrations. Lastly, Glo2 contains a modality to Detox through Lymphatic Massage. If you’ve ever gotten a facial or full-body lymphatic massage, I don’t even have to tell you how incredible these are not just for making you look lifted, but feeling incredible from the inside out. This works to reduce puffiness and improve lymphatic drainage. Glo2 is non-invasive, no-downtime, totally customizable to every skin type, and sensitive-skin approved. So in other words… be one of the first to experience this incredible, elevated facial. This isn’t your standard facial - this is a true experience leaving your skin happy, healthy, & with a glow you could see from space. We’re ~officially~ launching this service next month in June for our 9 year (!!!) Anniversary. Not to give tooooo much away, but you may see some discounted packages for not just Glo2, but ALL of our skin offerings including Procell Microchannelling & PICOSure Pro Skin Rejuvenation in a few weeks 🫨 so stay tuned! - - - This month Rufus du Sol was in Dallas, and wow oh WOW does he put on a good show. Not that I’m surprised at all. I’ve been a Rufus fan for a minute now, and seeing him this month was such a highlight. If I could dance with abandon at a RDS show every day - duh, I would. Need to run that experience back ASAP. - - - I’m actually writing this on the tail end of a trip to San Francisco for an exciting training, specifically focused on Korean lip blushing techniques. I had the privilege of training with true innovators in the PMU space, and I feel like I’m walking away from this with so much applicable knowledge that’s going to just elevate my practice & outcomes. I’ve said it before and I’ll forever preach this: if you want to see continued success in this space, you HAVE to be willing to always be a student. No one knows it all - and even if they do, there are so many continuous innovations in the Permanent Makeup space that if you don’t continue to learn & grow… you stagnate. Stagnating is something you will NEVER catch me doing, as I want to evolve, grow, and level up at every opportunity I can. That’s why I was so grateful I was able to fly out & train this past week, and I can confidently say the techniques I learned are next freaking level. We’re talking popsicle lips, borderless lip blushings… I’m literally getting IRL heart-eyes just thinking about starting to implement these techniques into my craft. Forever grateful this is what I get to do every single day. - - - In my personal life, this is a month of milestones! Not only do I turn 35 this month, but it’s my partner Ross and I’s 10-year anniversary 🥹 Grateful for not just another year, but for another year spent with those most precious to me.  - - - I’ve been testing some fun K Beauty products to bring into TBP over the past month or so - so naturally, some of them have become ride or dies for me! Without further ado; the May edition of Nicole’s Non-negotiables: Favorite Beauty Products: TOCOBO Bio Watery Sunscreen | Texas summers are no f*cking joke - and that means one AM application isn’t gonna cut it. I have been loving this SPF to just keep in my bag for reapplication. It’s SPF50, isn’t too thick, and plays well under makeup or over other skincare products. The best part? It doesn’t break the bank. We carry this in-studio so grab a bottle the next time you’re at The Brow Project! Neova 5 Second Daily Peel | Red carpet glow, anyone? This single step both resurfaces the skin & promotes cellular turnover. It has an AHA 5-acid blend, beta hydroxy acid, and vitamin A. Use in the PM, and wake up to glowy AF skin in the AM. Entropy Charm Tint Glossy Gel | Lip Gloss in a cute keychain… do I really need to go on? The formula is the perfect level of gloss and has a really impressive lasting power, while leaving the lips hydrated & nourished. The packaging is adorable, and the fact that it doubles as a cutie bag charm is just the icing on the cake.  Favorite Wellness Item: Breathe Meditation + Wellness Sound Baths | Same time, same day, every week. You know those things that just throw your week off if you don’t do or skip out on? When it comes to my weekly evening sound bath at Breathe - this is one of those things.   - - - Aaaand that’s all she wrote! I’ll catch ya in June. Until next month, loves! 💋 Xo, Nicole

  • Microblading Pre and Post Care

Getting your brows done is a major moment—but achieving and maintaining that flawless look means following a few simple steps before and after your appointment. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with all the deets to keep your brows looking fresh and fab. Let’s break it down, so you know exactly what to do (and what not  to do)! Pre-Care: What to do Before Your Brow Appointment Before your microblading appointment, it’s all about creating the perfect canvas. Follow these tips to ensure everything goes smoothly: Plan Around Waxing, Tinting, or Lamination : If you’re getting any of these treatments, make sure they’re done no later than 3 days before your appointment. Avoid the Sun : Skip tanning and sun exposure for at least 2 weeks before your session. Sunburned or flaking skin isn’t ideal, so if this happens, reach out to your artist 48 hours in advance to reschedule. Antibiotics : If you’re on antibiotics, you’ll need to wait until after your course is completed. Contact us if you need to reschedule. No Facials or Lasers : These treatments should be done 2 weeks before or after your appointment. Post-Surgery : Any cosmetic surgery near the treated area needs to be fully healed before we can work our magic. Botox Timing : Plan your Botox sessions either 10 days before or anytime after your brow appointment. Pause the Retinol : Stop using retinol on your forehead 2 weeks before your session. Skip Alcohol & Blood Thinners : Avoid alcohol, ibuprofen, or blood-thinning meds 24 hours before your appointment (unless prescribed by a doctor). Microblading Post-Care: Protecting Your New Brows After Your Appointment Once your brows are done, please handle the microblading with care as the healing process begins. Here’s how to keep them looking amazing: Be Gentle with Your Skin : Avoid skincare products with exfoliants, lighteners, or brighteners on your forehead for 10-14 days. Shower Smarts : Keep showers short, not hot or steamy. Think of it like trying not to mess up freshly done makeup! Avoid Treatments : Hold off on massages, facials, or saunas until your brows are fully healed. Stay Dry & Cool : Avoid sweating and direct sun exposure for 7-14 days. Hands Off : No touching the treated area—keep those hands clean and let your brows heal naturally. What to Expect During Healing Healing is a process, and it’s totally normal to experience the following: Peeling & Flaking : Your brows may look like they’re peeling off—don’t panic! This is completely normal. Temporary Unevenness : Some areas may fade more than others initially, but this will even out with time and touch-ups. No Picking! : Let the skin heal naturally. Picking at it can lead to uneven results. Important Notes to Keep in Mind Infection or Reaction : If you notice signs of infection, an allergic reaction, or any other adverse effects, contact a healthcare professional immediately. • Powder Brows Maintenance: Tips for Keeping Your Brows Fresh and Beautiful

Powder brows, the semi-permanent makeup technique that creates soft, powdered eyebrows, has gained immense popularity in recent years. A perfect solution for those looking to achieve well-defined, natural-looking brows, powder brows can last anywhere from one to three years with proper maintenance. In this blog, we’ll explore essential tips to ensure your powder brows stay fresh and beautiful throughout their lifespan. Follow Your Artist’s Aftercare Instructions After your powder brows procedure, your artist will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions. It’s crucial to follow these guidelines meticulously to ensure proper healing and pigment retention. Avoid touching, picking, or scratching your brows during the healing process, which typically takes about two weeks. Applying any skincare products directly on the treated area should be avoided as well. Remember, your artist’s guidance is valuable in maximizing the longevity of your powder brows. Protect Your Brows from Sun Exposure Sun exposure can cause the pigment in your powder brows to fade faster. As part of your maintenance routine, make sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher on your brows before heading out. This not only protects your skin but also preserves the vibrancy of the pigment, keeping your brows looking fresh and defined. Avoid Harsh Chemicals and Exfoliants To maintain the integrity of your powder brows, stay away from harsh facial cleansers, exfoliants, and anti-aging products directly on the brow area. These products can accelerate the fading process and cause the pigment to break down prematurely. Instead, opt for gentle, chemical-free cleansers when washing your face, avoiding contact with your brows as much as possible. Moisturize Regularly Keeping your skin well-hydrated contributes to the longevity of your powder brows. Moisturize the skin around your eyebrows with a non-comedogenic, oil-free moisturizer. Properly moisturized skin allows the pigment to stay in place and maintains the overall appearance of your brows. Schedule Touch-Up Sessions Over time, the pigment in your powder brows will naturally fade due to factors like skin type, lifestyle, and sun exposure. To keep your brows looking fresh and beautiful, schedule touch-up sessions as recommended by your artist. Touch-ups help replenish any faded areas, keeping your powder brows looking like new. Avoid Intense Sweating and Swimming During the first few weeks after your powder brows procedure, try to avoid activities that cause excessive sweating. Sweat can impact the healing process and affect the pigment retention. Similarly, it’s best to avoid swimming in pools or open water during this period, as chlorinated or saltwater can also affect the pigment’s longevity. Be Mindful of Skincare Products If you use retinoids or other skincare products containing active ingredients, avoid applying them directly on your brows. These products can accelerate the fading process and alter the color of the pigment. Consult with your powder brows artist or dermatologist if you’re unsure about the compatibility of specific skincare products with your brows. Powder brows offer natural-looking, semi-permanent beauty that lasts up to three years with proper care. Explore key tips to keep them looking flawless!\ Powder brows offer a fantastic solution for achieving flawless, well-defined eyebrows that last for an extended period. By following these maintenance tips, you can ensure your powder brows stay fresh and beautiful throughout their lifespan. Remember, proper aftercare, sun protection, and gentle skincare routines are essential to maximize the longevity of your powder brows, leaving you with picture-perfect brows you’ll love for years to come.

  • The Science Behind 3D Microblading: How It Creates Natural-Looking Brows

In the world of beauty and aesthetics, 3D microblading has emerged as a revolutionary technique for achieving natural-looking and perfectly shaped eyebrows. Unlike traditional eyebrow tattooing, which often results in flat and artificial-looking brows, 3D microblading employs a meticulous approach that mimics the natural growth patterns of eyebrow hair. In this article, we will delve into the science behind 3D microblading and explore how this technique creates eyebrows that seamlessly blend with your unique features. Understanding 3D Microblading 3D microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery, is a semi-permanent makeup technique that involves using a manual handheld tool to deposit pigments into the upper layers of the skin’s epidermis. This technique is primarily used to enhance the shape, color, and density of eyebrows. What sets 3D microblading apart is its focus on creating individual, fine hair strokes that replicate the appearance of real eyebrow hair. The Anatomy of Eyebrow Hair Before we dive into the science of 3D microblading, it’s essential to understand the anatomy of eyebrow hair. Eyebrow hair is not uniform in thickness, color, or direction. The hairs near the bridge of the nose are often finer and shorter, while those towards the tail end of the brow tend to be thicker and longer. Additionally, the hairs point in various directions, contributing to the overall natural look. The Science of Stroke Patterns 3D microblading artists use their knowledge of eyebrow hair anatomy to create stroke patterns that imitate the natural growth of hair. By carefully studying the direction, length, and thickness of existing eyebrow hairs, the artist can replicate these patterns through microblading. This attention to detail is what allows the final result to appear so realistic. Pigment Selection and Color Matching Another crucial aspect of the science behind 3D microblading is pigment selection and color matching. Skilled artists consider factors such as the client’s skin tone, hair color, and facial features when choosing pigments. By selecting the right pigment shades, the artist ensures that the microbladed strokes harmonize with the client’s natural coloring, further enhancing the natural look. Precision and Skill 3D microblading requires a high level of precision and skill. The artist must have a steady hand and an eye for detail to create consistent and realistic hair strokes. Each stroke is carefully placed to follow the natural direction of the existing hair, resulting in an incredibly lifelike appearance. Conclusion The science behind 3D microblading is a combination of artistic skill, anatomical knowledge, and attention to detail. By understanding the natural growth patterns of eyebrow hair, selecting appropriate pigments, and employing meticulous stroke techniques, skilled microblading artists can create brows that are virtually indistinguishable from natural ones. The result is a transformative enhancement that boosts self-confidence and adds a touch of elegance to your overall look. If you’re considering 3D microblading, take the time to find a reputable artist who not only understands the technique but also respects the science that goes into creating beautiful, natural-looking brows.

This low-maintenance aspect of microblading makes it particularly appealing to busy professionals, moms, and anyone who wants to streamline their beauty routine. Long-Lasting Results: Another reason for the popularity of microblading in Dallas is its longevity. While traditional eyebrow makeup may smudge, fade, or require constant touch-ups, microbladed eyebrows typically last between one to three years, depending on individual factors and aftercare. This long-lasting effect allows individuals to enjoy beautiful, hassle-free brows for an extended period. Customization and Personalization: Microblading offers a high level of customization and personalization. Skilled microblading artists in Dallas take the time to assess each client’s facial structure, skin tone, and natural eyebrow growth patterns to create a tailored design. They consider factors such as face shape, symmetry, and personal preferences to achieve the desired outcome. This attention to detail ensures that every client receives brows that are uniquely suited to them. The Importance of Choosing a Qualified Artist: When considering microblading in Dallas , it’s crucial to choose a qualified and experienced artist. Look for professionals who have undergone proper training, possess relevant certifications, and have a portfolio showcasing their work. Reading reviews and testimonials from previous clients can also provide insights into their expertise and professionalism. The Consultation and Aftercare Process: Before undergoing microblading, you’ll typically have a consultation with your chosen artist. During this appointment, you can discuss your desired brow shape, color, and any concerns you may have. After the procedure, following the artist’s aftercare instructions is essential to ensure proper healing and long-lasting results. This typically includes avoiding water, excessive sweating, and applying any recommended ointments or creams. Conclusion: Microblading has undeniably become the hottest trend in Dallas, thanks to its ability to provide natural-looking, time-saving, and low-maintenance eyebrows. With its long-lasting results and customized approach, microblading offers a solution for individuals who want to enhance their brows and boost their confidence.
